Raised in the heart of Baton Rouge, Mike grew up surrounded by the love and encouragement of his mother, grandmother, and two beloved siblings—an older sister and a younger brother. With fond memories of taking an hour-long ride to his uncle's church every Sunday, Mike's faith in Jesus Christ was instilled very early. From an early age, he discovered his passion for football, igniting his spirit on the BREC peewee football fields as a member of the Baton Rouge Bears and Baton Rouge Vikings.
Mike's path to gridiron greatness continued through his high school years at Louisiana State University Laboratory School (U-High), where he excelled both academically and athletically. With an honorable GPA and a fierce determination to succeed, he led his team to two LSHAA championships and earned himself the prestigious MVP award twice, solidifying his status as a rising star in Louisiana's football scene.
Upon graduation, Mike's talent and dedication caught the attention of college recruiters, ultimately leading him to the storied program at the University of Virginia. As a Cavalier, he embraced the challenge of competing at the highest level of collegiate football, bringing his trademark blend of speed, agility, and relentless drive to every game.
